The Shipwreck Loft is an ideal place to stay while visiting the museum and to explore the rest of the beautiful Shotley Peninsula.

It's ideally situated within the marina and has fantastic views of the marina itself, the River Orwell, across to Felixstowe and Harwich and the River Stour.
It's also handy for Harwich and Felixstowe via the ferry in the warmer months. Bookings required.

With views over Shotley Marshes, St Mary's is an interesting church to visit both inside and out, where the Naval War Graves are located, behind and to the side.

Commonwealth War Graves:
Shotley (St. Mary) Churchyard

Mainly Royal Navy graves but also some Dutch sailors who were killed locally. Includes seamen from HMS Gypsy, which struck a mine in the River Orwell and sank.

Barrelmans Point
