ABOUT US

HMS GANGES MUSEUM

The Museum is currently located within Enright Block, the old Engineering School of the former HMS Ganges site which closed in 1972. The building was renamed Victoria House and is now part of Shotley Marina.
From humble beginnings a few keen Ganges Boys started by securing a space for the museum and collected some initial artefacts. Since then the museum content has grown substantially over the years and the archives provide a valuable resource for those researching family who trained at HMS Ganges as boys.
Today the museum is still maintained and run by a team of volunteers, many of whom are Ganges Boys.
